Okay, so maybe it was one too many Strawberry Daiquiris on the beach at sunset… or maybe just way too many
Cheeseburgers in Paradise. No excuses, Professor beach got FAT! 225 lbs FAT. After years of exploring and enjoying beaches around the world it just wasn't fun anymore. No more fun because when I got to the beach I was ashamed to take off my shirt. Ever feel that way?
My last beach exploring trip to Florida really did it. I just sat in a beach chair under an umbrella. Didn't even want to swim or walk on the beach because I was just too uncomfortable in my skin. Just too much of me “in my skin”. Fast forward two months and I'm down to 205 lbs and on my way to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Join me on my pursuit of health and once again walking the beach with my shirt off. Watch my progress and see how I did it here.

Jaco (Pronounced in English as Ha-co) is a coastal city in Costa Rica’s Puntarenas province, located in the Central Pacific Region, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
Jaco is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from San Jose and one hour North of Manuel Antonio National Park.
As a result of its location as one of the closest beaches to the Central Valley and its location in relation to Manuel Antonio, Jaco has become a very popular tourist destination for not only native Costa Ricans but also foreign travellers.
It lies between several mountains, and encompasses the beaches of Herradura, Jacó and Hermosa.

At about 15 miles north of Jacó, lies the popular Carara National Park, recognized for it´s scarlet macaws, toucans and white faced monkeys. Jacó is a city booming with tourism, and hosts several restaurants, shops, nightclubs, discos, and all-inclusive hotels, as well as several expensive condominiums and houses. Surfing draws many people to the beaches, which are known for their consistent 3 to 4 meter surf. Other activities such as canopy, aerial trams, ATV riding, kayaking and scuba diving are offered around the area. Located in neighboring Herradura is the popular resort Los Sueños, which contains a 5 star Marriot hotel, one of only 9 golf courses in the country, and luxury condominiums and houses that sell for approximately $1,000,000 USA. The addition of Los Sueños to the Jaco area has aided tremendously in the growth of the area, creating many jobs for locals as well as establishing the Jaco area as an elite destination among tourists in the Central Pacific Region. Another notable resort community which is currently in development, Del Pacifico, is located 20 minutes south of Jaco.
